I've done a lot of work with telephone systems after they were installed, but am just now installing one from scratch. I have a REALLY simple question. I've got my punch blocks and all (and I'm comfortable with that).

My question:
What do you call these things? I can't order them if I can't name them.

Mushrooms, or, wire routing spools.

Wire distribution posts and they go on the top.

When running jumpers over or around them use only enough hand pressure to route and dress the jumpers. Inadvertant hand pressure will cause the center mounting screw to tear itself loose from the board causing you to put in a bigger screw and a bigger screw and a bigger screw until the hole is so big you gotta move the spool/post.

Thanks! Got them ordered, now the fun part. Rewiring 200 extensions, cross connected through three sets of blocks, nothing labeled. Let the good times roll!

Post some pictures when it's done!
