At a CS-50 site I need to spec out a new paging horn setup for the factory, I tried using the tip & ring audio output on the yellow/orange pair, you could hear the speech on a butt set but it was too weak for the old AT&T paging unit they had.

Any ideas?

WE use Valcom Paging. Depending on the size of the factory floor you can use 5 watt or 15 watt paging horns V-1030 or V-1036. Then depending on how many zones you may want will determine the page control you will need. A 1 zone basic V-200A a +12 will get you a couple of 5 watt horns @ -6 each. Make sure you match up the amount of speakers to the correct power supply. Valcom has a reference chart for that.

Hope this helps

We use Valcom on the small to medium jobs...you may find you want to look at Bogen if you have a really large job.

Both have great pre sales tech support if you have any type of complicated installation.

Don't the 50's have an RJ style jack on the side for the PA output?

No RJ, it's just like the S-Class, the output is on terminals 33 and 34 on the first card.

What's the jack on the side that says "OH paging" for then?...

you're right Brian, I just checked one on the shelf and there is a modular OH Paging port on the 50 and 50L now (I assume since it's a Comm Server?).

One of our techs confirmed it worked on an installation we did last week, so it's even easier now! The Installation Manual still mentions pairs 33 and 34....
