We just got a whole batch of phones for a large install and few smaller ones.

I noticed that the speaker is muffled compared to my inhouse switch. I placed one of the new phones on my demo and there is a noticeable difference between the new phone and my demo phone. The phones were also muffled at one of the installs.

I love ESI, but this bothers me.
I noticed this on a large install the other day, I won't woory until the customer starts complaining
I'm sure that if either of you bring it to the attention of ESI tech support you will get more information. It wouldn't be the first time a manufacturer goofed on a bulk amount of product that wasn't discovered until it hit the market. General Motors and Ford are examples.

There might be an ROA waiting for you.
I was thinking the same thing that a batch was bad, but I also got a 4-pack of backlit 48-key with the order and they too are muffled. I would suppose that the backlit phones are run on a different batch.

I just hope that this is not a cost saving measure by esi with a lower quality speaker.
