Hello,

I've been asked to make some changed to our auto-attendant. One of the changes is switching from individuals getting calls to a department. Right now, I have the departments set to All but a few of them would like to be set for In Order. I want to better understand the call flow before I make the change.

For In Order, does it ring each phone at the F152 timer? If not, what timer does it follow before reaching the CFWD destination?

I want to avoid a caller hearing ringing for a long period of time when some of the larger departments are accessed.

Thanks!

Yes, the In Order timer is F152. Each phone is rung, in order, and whatever time you have set in F152 is how many rings the caller hears + 1.

Just to clarify, if I have 2 departments one with 3 and the other with 5 and my F152 is set at 5, the caller would hear what is listed below assuming no one answers.

Dept A (3): 16 rings before VM
Dept B (5): 26 rings before VM

Is that correct?

Yes. That is correct. If this is a problem, why not set up ACD groups. You can make the ring to AA shorter.
