OK, new to IP phones on Iwatsu.
We have ECS v8.0 software.
All digital extensions working fine.

Trying to get up some IP phones for the first time.

Followed manual,
setup CCSU and MBU wiring as specified.
Created VIPSUB virtual ports
assigned extensions to ports
Setup IP network.
Setup DHCP Windows server to work with Iwatsu phones. (auto discovery, etc.)
Connected IX-5900 and IX-5910 phones.
Properly registered with no errors.
The phones recieve dhcp addresses, the DHCP server even properly hands out the IX-CCSU LAN 2 IP address to the phones.

It all looks good.
Get proper dial tone.
Can seize ICM and outside lines
But if I try to make a call TO or FROM these phones I get "channel busy" error.

I am probably missing something really basic.
Any ideas?

Thanks!
DP

Make sure your MBU programming is correct- static IP address for the MBU, different from LAN2 on the same subnet, programmed for the proper slot with the correct MAC address entered.

Are these IP phones local or remote extensions?
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. The ECS was programmed to have the MBU in slot 1 instead of slot 2.

Now I am very close.
I can now initiate and receive call on the IP phone, but the other party cannot hear me talking on the IP phone. I can hear the other party fine while on the IP phone.

There are no firewalls between the two phones.
The only thing that I see as different from the programming manual is the RTP port settings. for slot #2 they are set to 6204 start and 6394 end. Is this of consequence? The manual states that 5004 start and 5998 end is default.
I changed the RTP port settings as well and reset the card and it all seems to be working!
