Hi Everyone,
I've been trying to get an old Executone IDS 84 back online for one of my clients, and I'm hitting a wall with the programming...

I've found a lot of information on these forums, and as a result, I'm attempting to use Procomm Plus 4.8 to connect over a direct (custom wired) USB!! Serial adapter, using combinations of TV925/950/955, 8N1, 9600 or 19200 and Zmodem, Xmodem and Kermit modes. I've been trying for some time, and can't get any response from the system, so I'm wondering if my pinouts are wrong, OR if anyone knows of any issues with USB/Serial adapters for RS-232 connections of this type.

I've used these diagrams (Yost Serial Device wiring - that was all I could find for an RJ45 RS-232 connection) - can someone double-check it for me? https://www.lammertbies.nl/comm/cable/yost-serial-rj45.html

Thank you in advance!

all you need is a straight through computer patch cord and a DB9 to RJ45 connector.
in the DB9 you will need the fallowing pins
2 green, 3 yellow, 5 red, 9 black.
this is the pin out that I use.

Well, I have another thought... I got "into" the system... I think. It will show me a system status screen. But ProComm disonnects whenever I hit "esc". I'm wondering if the CPU was damaged? It's still possible that my cable is wrong, and I'm recieving but not transmitting properly.

However, I have another problem anyway - I ordered a refurbished CPU from a company in Cali, and they've been OBNOXIOUS... Ordered overnight delivery last Friday, and this morning I finally got ahold of someone (the 6th since Friday) who informed me that it was shipped out yesterday, UPS GROUND.

So, does anyone in the PA/NJ/MA region (I'm in Reading PA) have good used/refurbished Executone parts? I need a 22350 CPU for the IDS 84.
