Has anyone successfully taken analog ports off of a 108 and ran them VOIP to analog phones at another location, without needing a bunch of equipment or spending a ton of money? The previous owner left a Mediatrix box, which it appears if I got the corresponding box for the other side, would do what I wanted. I'm probably looking for maybe 4-8 ports. Any suggestions on methods or equipment? I also have an extra 84 system laying around. Is there any way to tie two systems together via LAN/WAN?
Never sent analog stations to another site via VOIP. We once had a credit union site that had a 228 at the main location and was connected to 3 smaller locations that ran EZ36 systems. Send OPXI stations to other sites via FX lines back in the day. Worked good of course has some issues at times with the telco FX lines.
One thing that you may need to check into is can the single line stations perform a Flash (via VOIP)from remote end as this is how they would be able to transfer calls back to main location if that is needed? We had PBX flash keys programmed at remote end to perform that function.
Also we were using OPXI modules at the time.
Another thing the 12 port single line card: per system manual> The card is not designed and cannot be used for off–premise extensions
