The company I work for is currently with AT&T. Doing business in the far east... Roaming calls with AT&T World Traveler plan ($5.99 a month for voice calls when outside the country)are $1.99 a minute. That can add up in a hurry. Asked AT&T if they have any better plan and told that is it.

I went to the Sprint website and see thier plan at $4 a month and calls at between .13 and .16 a minute.

Am I missing something? Could there really be that big a difference in rates?
Million dollar/call set-up charge? frown John C.
Correction. The Sprint charges I quoted were when calling from the US to China. Still pretty good rates..
The real rates for roaming while in China is $2.29 a minute.

Like "idea" or "ideal"? smile
All those rates are pretty competitive now, difference is marginal on the overall picture. Best bet is to negotiate with your rep, assuming you work for a large enough company where your business counts, if you know what i mean. However, you do need to make sure the cell carrier will be compatible in other countries. i.e. GSM or CDMA
