I'm trying to determine for one of my clients what this line is being used for....when called you get a shorttone and then a series of clicks,,, if you hit a tt, the clicks seem to go away for a while.

Here is the number 518-381-3953

any guess is valued
Thanks

It almost sounds like a "silent termination" except for the clicks. Verizon still provides that here. Pressing 1 or 8 stops the clicks and dialing 88 will cause disconnect. Maybe that's what it is and it has malfunctioned.

412-341-0066 provides a short burst of tone and then a silent termination. Great for checking circuit noise. Pressing a series of numbers will get various tones starting with 660 Hz up to 2400 Hz.
