I'm having trouble sending the proper SIA reporting codes to the monitoring station. This panel uses an older form of SIA that I'm not familiar with. The receiving station is getting the codes but doesn't know what zones are reporting and what type of event is being reported. Does anyone have a list of the actual SIA report codes for Burg zones and holdup buttons as well as system maintenance codes?

Welcome to the board Dave. welcome

I assume you are working on a DSC PC400 MAXSYS.
I don't know what the default SIA codes are or if they can be changed.
I've never worked on one of those but after looking in the manual I see the system is capable of communication using other common formats.

Just out of curiosity, why can't you use another format such as Silent Knight,Ademco Slow?

Hi, and thanks for the welcome.

The panel was programmed for 4-2 format but the monitoring company didn't have any clue as to what codes I should use for openings and closings. As you may know, there are over 125 user codes available. There are some 32 codes programmed and the client needed them to start reporting. SIA is the easiest to program for that purpose. I tried Contact ID but the receiver would not acknowledge the signals. It got late last night, so I switched it back to SIA. Now they can see the user codes as I just put the user number in each reporting slot - 01 for user 1, (master code), 02 for code 2 and so forth. But they only see the zones as 01 as that is what I have put in there. They can't seem to tell the difference between a burg zone and a panic. I guess this panel is so old, that the automatic SIA codes aren't there.

Yep, with open/close reporting enabled I can see why 4x2 won't work for you. smile

Did the monitoring center offer to let you try a different receiver on a different line?
If you tried a different receiver the only thing I can think of is initializing the panel and starting from scratch.

That's one panel I don't want to re-program. We no longer have the DLS 1 software nor do we want to fire it up again.

I ended up just putting 01 in for zone 1 and 02 for zone 2 and so forth. The receiver seems to read that just fine, they just had to be told when zone 15 and 16 come in, it is a panic.......

The client will be upgrading next month to a 4020 with access control and a T-Link module. Can't wait to get my hands on that one.

From the looks of the Installation manual I don't blame you for not wanting to reprogram that animal. [Linked Image from messenger.msn.com]

I'm not 100% sure but I think the latest DLS software is backward compatible so it would probably work on that panel.
But since they are going to upgrade it would be a waste of time anyway.

Glad you got it going your way for now. :thumb:
