I am working with a verifone saphire topaz POS system connected with rs232 out raw from 2 registers. Hooking to a dvr security camera system with 3 choices rs232(1ch) which I have tested with each register and works great but limited to 1 connection at a time (need 2), then I have rs232ave) which requires me to buy american video equipment boxes to be able to assign a channel ($600 a box and need 2) or I have TCP Net which uses ports. I am trying LAVA ethernet serial adapter RS232-ethernet and assigning an address and port to it, connected rs232 and setting ports on dvr. All I receive on dvr is Poss connect Pos disconnect over and over but no data. I have the LAVA device set for Rawclient and to go to IP of DVR and port of channel to dvr 8N1N but I am not receiving data. Anyone have any experience on this or something I am missing. It is holding me up getting paid with a good customer and would like to solve, thanks

Sorry I can't help all the POS I have connected were with a video feed. Have you checked with the POS company if there may be a rs232 to video adapter.

yes there are text inserters, but I would like to use the functionality of the dvr for searching, etc? I need to use the ports but missing the text, I connect then disconnect, no text

Most POS have a video output that connects directly to the DVR. I usually connect this next to the camera that watches the POS. You can still use the DVR search or does the rs232 give more info then the POS display/keys?
