Does anyone know where I can get one of these?

I have a 601 that has been in storage for about 18 years. I was saving it to use for a "museum". The power supply burned up a 100 ohm resistor when I plugged it in yesterday. I looked back in this forum, and it looks like someone posted about this same issue a few years back. I have a schematic and there is not much to it, but I don't have a component tester (got rid of that and the O-scope a long time ago.) I would just be replacing components if I attempted to repair it. I'm not sure it is worth it for a display piece.

Oh, don't throw that 601 away! Someone here will want it, if you decide to 'can' it. If nobody else speaks up, I'll take it, although it will sit in the Garage for a WHILE!

Reluctantly I might be persuaded to ship all of my ITT 601 stuff out the door. It includes both the power supply, interrupter and ring generator.

I also have the cardfile if you need it. Make an offer.

Thanks for the offer. I am going to tinker around with this and try to repair it. The problem appears to be with one or both of the transistors, and they are pretty common components. In reality I *should* get rid of all of this stuff that I have hoarded over the years, but that wouldn't be any fun. I'll let you know how my attempt at a repair turns out.

I realize this thread is over 10 years old, however I have been scouring the interwebs for a schematic for the power supply on the ITT 601 or 601A phone system. My shop has this phone system and a nearby lightning strike took out the power supply. Specifically, the two TO-220 components on the heatsink, a couple of resistors, the tantalum cap, and three 1N4004s. Everything else is good on the board as well as the line cards and interrupter card. The two TO-220 components were physically shattered to the point to where it is impossible to read the type of semi conductor they are, but I would assume some type of 24v regulators.

I would greatly appreciate any help.

Generally the scope of this forum is on the user/installer level of programming assistance not component level parts replacement, however, there are a few here that might have your answer. Have you thought of just replacing the power supply?

Here is a link to replacing the PS 601 KSU ITT, but if you have it down to component level you already know how to replace it. Still the document has useful information.

I would be grateful if someone, at their convenience, please supply me with the information
regarding the two TO-220 components on the heatsink, i.e., (the number, manufacturer name, etc.).

Okay, just for grins, the glass is half full. Here's a pic of my destroyed power supply. Maybe Digikey has a parts cross-reference and you can glean the numbers off the picture.

The magic of the internet and someone who is curious. The OP (fredfretter1919) did get my jpg via email and sent the following information

The TO-220-3 devices are 7924 (-24 Volt Regulator) and 2N5298 a medium
power switch/audio amp.

So. Posted for future reference.
