I have a customer who recently changed from an Axxess with an IPRC card for two remote phones to an HX system. We have been able to get the phones to connect to the system, but the audio isn't working. The ports we have open in the firewall are:
5566
5567
6004-7039
5004-65468

NAT address type for each phone is set to NAT.

Anything else I should be looking at???

Is it no audio or 1 way audio? The ports look good. All should be UDP except 5566 which is TCP.

Go to one of the phones in DB Programming and then go to IP Settings\Network Configuration. Verify that the Audio Stream Receive Port has not been changed. Should be 5004 by default.

Other than that, I would test the connection with the firewall wide open (no ports blocked) and see if you have audio. Also, if possible I would bring the phones right next to the HX 5000 and see if the audio is there at that point. Maybe the ports are being blocked on the far end as well?

Also, try changing the NAT address type to Auto instead of NAT and see what you get.

Good luck and let us know what you find.

There is no audio at all. The audio stream port is 5004 for both phones.
I will be going to site tomorrow to try one of the phones right at the system and try changing the NAT setting.

Thanks for the suggestion

I don't know if it would be the same for the 5000HX system, but the ports below are what I have open for an Intertel 5400 with Mitel 53xx phones.

Alternative TFTP UDP:20001
Audio Stream Receive Ports UDP:6004-7039
Mitel Devices TCP:6800-6802
RTP/RTCP UDP:5004-5005
SAC Connection TCP:3998-3999,6880
Softphone GP UDP Port UDP:5567
Softphone TCP Call Control TCP:5566

Well after running in circles for several hours I discovered the customer did not have the correct public IP assigned to the router for the remote phones. I changed the NAT address in the 5000 and the audio worked just fine.

Thanks for the ideas!
