Hi guys!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to allow inbound caller ID on a PRI. We have an Inter-Tel Axxess version 7.005 outbound caller ID works great but inbound is only showing the telephone number and no name for any callers.

Welcome to the board! First thing to do is to make sure the PRI provider is providing name and number delivery. It's an option..number only or name and number. You'll be chasing your tail trying to make it work it work if it's not even coming in.

Thank you! The carrier confirmed they are allowing the name and number and I had them do a stare & compare to another location we have with them. They are saying everything is identical and pointing the finger at the PBX, of course smile

Below is the Debug they provided as well.

Here’s the debug of your test call.

Correct me if I'm wrong. I thought only the ANI is delivered when using ISDN/PRI service. For name delivery standard Loop Start POTS lines would be needed. eh
Posted By: DND ON Re: Inbound Caller ID - 07/15/14 02:15 AM
Nope, ANI is for an E&M T1. A PRI will deliver name and number if the correct flags are set, but I can't remember if it was supported at version 7.

If it is supported, you'll have to use the feature code to toggle between name and number being displayed.

BUMP..

Inter-tel guys. Does version 7.XX support name and number on PRI inbound delivery?
Posted By: dexman Re: Inbound Caller ID - 07/15/14 03:32 AM
The IXC/CLECs that I worked for only delivered the ANI via ISDN/PRI. No names. eh

Oh well...back to the topic at hand.

There is a station flag in version 7 for this. The default feature code is 379 and you can do it while on an active call to test.
Posted By: AmberG Re: Inbound Caller ID - 07/15/14 03:04 PM
I had the location try the 379 feature code yesterday and they got "CANNOT ACCESS FEATURE". I'm going to try the feature code with a known working location today just to confirm it works. If it does what does that mean? That either the carrier is not pushing the name correctly? Or is there anything on the PBX side I can change?
Posted By: Stix1 Re: Inbound Caller ID - 07/15/14 03:40 PM
There are actually 3 flags within the station itself that control Caller ID.

1. Display Outside Party Name
2. Expanded CO Call Information on Displays
3. Outside Party Call Information has Priority

Make sure these are all enabled.

You can toggle the right on the station itself in programming without using the feature codes.

I would also make sure that Advanced CO Interfaces is enabled in your premium features.

If all of those check out okay, it's time to get a vendor onsite to assist further. The fastest way to get to the bottom of the problem would probably be to call a vendor meet between yourself, your carrier, and your vendor.
