OK sports fans.
I have a Axxess ATM 1024 system. Customer wants to add IPRC and 86XX phones. I know I need the IPRC-16 card and the IPRCD Daughter board to get 32. But Do I need the 32 PAL chip if the system is a version 11? Don't I just need the CAT A licens?
Lets say 32 I need the:
IPRC
IPRCD
32 CAT A which I can still get from Mitel (yes I checked)
827.9599 U22 or is that just for networking?
This customer is going to changing out the system in 1.5 years but I need to get this for them now.
Thank you in advance for the help. Looking forward to a response,
Cans and ...does anyone have any string?

The Axxess has reached end of life. Mitel no longer offers CAT A licenses, Networking, IP networking etc. The only way to get IP endpoints is to program the IPRC (w/ 16 ip endpoint pal) as a station card- v1.5 using old school IP phones- 770.4500, 770.4600 or 550.8660
We found out Mitel will sell us the CAT A licenses. Mitel will not support it but will sell it. However I am just trying to confirm the hardware. Thoughts anyone?

The PAL license chip for the IPRC is only for version 1.5 code running on it. When you bring the IPRC to the code level where it integrates into DB Studio, then the license file licensing kicks in, and you'd need to get your CAT A re-licensing. (although others have stated that Inter-Tel/Mitel have denied them before).

I believe the 827.9599 U22 License PAL again is only for 1.5 code on the IPRC, and again, for the code levels where it integrates into DB Studio, you'd have to get the appropriate re-license for that functionality instead.

Finally, there are certain combos of IPRC code/ phone firmware/ phone hardware that don't check licensing. :-O But you have to be extremely selective, and going to the wrong firmware or getting the wrong phone could lock you out.

If you are using licenses- CAT A from Mitel you do not need the older version IPRC with the Chip. Flash the IPRC to the latest version.
