I know this system does outcalling from inside the mail box, and I know it can transfer and connect a caller from the auto attendant to an outside line (such as a cell phone or answering service);does anyone know if it can transfer a caller from within a mailbox to an outside line? In the documentation I can only find outcalling info for the mailbox, but nothing about call transfer from the mailbox. If it can be done, does anyone know specifically how?

Only a selector code can be programmed with the trans feature and they are for AUTO ATTN only. The mail box's can only have outcalling to notify them of new messages.
Hope this helps.

That's what I thought, I just didn't want to believe it. So, if my customer wants call transfer for himself, then maybe I should change a selector code in auto attendant 1 so that the caller will be transferred to auto attendant 2, and then in that auto attendant the caller will have the option of either going to his mailbox to drop a message or dialing a digit to transfer to his cell phone? Will that work? Thank you for all your help.

Yes give the caller the option to press a digit to trans to his cell in the Auto Att
greeting or he can dial his extesion to leave a voice mail.

Route an extension port to a line port.

Make the mailbox's personal operator be the extension port.

Make the line port be answered by Auto Attendant 2

Set up selector codes to do a Centrex Transfer to the outside number.

Recording on original mailbox says, "to be transferred to my cell phone, press zero."

Call transfers to AA#2 which says something like "to transfer to Bill Smith, press 1. To transfer to John Jones, press 2., etc..."

Thank you, Tommy. One more question: should the line associated with that extension be a private line that is not associated with any hunt group? Thank you, again!
