i have an acs 15 x 40 and a 4 port voicegate
mail inherited from a company that would not respond
they have 8 -18d in sales 3 in cust service
2 -in shipping and 1 -in storage dept
they want the auto attendent to answer and
with single digit dialing go to 4 areas
they want all 8 sales phones to ring after coming thru attendant and any sales person to pick up i tried #502 calling group ext
but that gets wacky with voicemail ok internally
so i was going to #501 pick up groups use a spare set in sales for ringing and and put pick up buttons on sales sets
any other ideas out there ? other then going to tosh dk

Ken,
I haven't worked with the Voicegate but did go to there site and looked at there features and i didn't see anything about 1 digit transfer, just a guess but perhaps it doesn't support it. I would give them a call.

This was on there site for the Avaya intergration
[Note: Not all features are supported on all Avaya phone systems.]

The Voicegate can do what you describe. What version is it and Is it the Wizard, VIP4000 or the ICS

it gets pretty compicated and the Manual would really help. With the newer versions It comes oa a diskette with the system.

its an ics windows 2000 voicegate and goes in nicely
i did one yesterday on a tosh dk but not dial 1-2-3-4 etc
my concern is intercom conflict with the acs
the dial one goes to a ring group during the day but after hours the 74 group will answer say on a dial 1 and goes to limbo
i am going back today and i will probably go to dial 5-6-7-8 during the day and refer customers to x18-16- etc to leave message

i have a major brain f--t with the custom directories in the vg
on a tosh dk if you just stay away from x and use phantom dns it fine in departments

tx for your thoughts

You can set up a class of service for 74 to be supervised transfer and the VM will take care of sending the call back to the VM

There is a way to set Mailbox 74 to go back to the main menu but I can't think of it right now.

end result it all worked day went to dial 1-2-3-4-5 thru vg to sales etc so sales would only sell
end result principal had change of mind
and i took it all out he was pissed off bcause he was out and couldnt remember the ext he wanted and forgot directory
back to live answer only @ night it will pick up and route to extensions
so end result is i did with this 1500 hour
voicemail the same as 4 costco $25.00 ans
machines
