Can Definity 8410D phones work with a Partner 3.0 System?

The reason im asking, is that a friend of mine just leased a building with an older Partner 3.0 system and does not have the correct phones. The phones he has is are the Definity 8410D's. I'm new to the whole telecommunications role, so give this "newby" some slack .

8410 sets will only work on the Definity. You need Partner phones 18D,18ND,6 or the old MLS type phones. Single line phones will also work.

thanks for your help. Anyone know of a company that excepts trade ins?
