Can HFAI be used on a Partner Endeavor with 18D phones? I couldn't find a definitive answer so I've been trying it. I have the HFAI/Mic button lit on the phone, and I've tried Intercom + * + ext. with no luck, it always just rings the extension.
Should it work? If it should, any suggestions as to why it doesn't?
thanks.
the endeavor had a few features different then acs and this may be one
it was smdr output was the difference
not hfai

Yes the Endeavor works the same way for intercomming Left Intercom * + XX should voice the station.
try plugging a set directly into port on control unit and dial * icm # and see if that works on that ext
The users guide on the avaya site makes NO mention on voice intercom. They also call The HFAI/MIC key the microphone key - No mention of "Hands Free Answer Intercom" which is a voice intercom feature. Makes me believe it is not a feature of the endeavor

But in the Endeavor manual it states that the Edeavor and Partner 18 button Display sets use * for voice intercomming on the Endeavor system.
the original brochure shows hfai
is there 2 different sets as 18d
sets made along the way
I just went through the Endeavor manual on auto dialing and it refers that the Partner Endeavor and Partner style sets both support voice intercomming. It doesn't mention any considerations about the 18D and 34D sets. All that I am seeing seems to say yes.
I have only installed 1 endeavour, doesn't have the 18d phones though, but I know HFAI is working. Think the endeavour phones were 12D with cute lil displays.
After looking at the manual it looks like yes
From what I remember then actually trying it on an Endeavor I had in the shop the answer is yes.
By the way, the HFAI button has to be lit on the extension you are calling, NOT on the phone you are calling from. HFAI is a feature of all Partner phones and systems back to even I believe the original baby Partner.

Thanks to everyone for your responses...turns out that it is available, and that I'm officially an idiot! I was dialing Int+*16...there isn't a phone plugged into that port.
I'm so embarassed.
It's works fine when I dial a valid phone extension.
