Has anyone used the viking opx range exstender or other manufacturers with the Partner System in order to connect to another Partner System across town on two dry pairs of leased crkts. Again, Sending an ex. out from one system to the other and vice versa so that calls can be transfer back and forth from each system?

I have done this before but found the reacurring cost was not justified. now we use FXO/FXS accross the internet.

Im talkng less than two miles for this aplication... Rented pairs are how much a mile? 15 dollars per mile or so per month? What is verizon charging for these crkts these days or other special conditioned crkts.

Are you wanting to extend a Partner system phone to another location off premise, or are you trying to extend an analog extension from one Partner systems station port to the distant Partner systems line port. I have always wondered if this would work. Theoretically this could be done with with two pairs but as mentioned the monthly charges from the local telco could be prohibitive.

Ntec, yes staion to line input to one system and station to line input back the other system and it will work. I just don't know the tarriff on the line renting charges per mile and don't feel like calling verizmoron to ask. I have seen this done with the Merlin 820's some time ago with a merlin 1030 opx card. It worked nicely. I think at one time lucent made a product to do this with the partner. Of course I could screw around with Viop and some rig like a Sipura SPA-3000 but these two business are auto salvage and auto towing. If I could climb the pole and steal a couple of pairs to make it a mile and a half down the road I'd do it. Then I could change my company name to midnight wire repair.

Besides, and there is more to it.. the customer is paying for one line to be in both places so its like having a party line. It often can be a privacy issue.
