Is anyone out there using the Avaya Transtalk 9000 Digital Wireless System?

We have an Avaya Definity G3si. We have two building with many barrier walls that make any general cordless 2.4 and 5.8 phone fairly useless in most areas. I'm looking at this option...

How are the 9040 handsets?
Do you get the expected range?

And pros and cons to share?

Thank you! Rhonda

Rhonda, I have a customer with 4 rental storage locations. Each of these locations covers several acres and all the buildings are metal. They can use the 9040 at the most extreme end of the property which averages 500-600 ft. He is adding additional buildings at one site and this will push the range out to 800-900 ft. I have done some testing at that location and we are going to add an additional transmitter toward the rear of the property. Are they perfect? No - sometimes they get a little popping when they going inside one of the metal buildings. However, they work well enough so provide them phone coverage when there is only one person in the office and that person has to go out to the storage buildings.
The Engenius brand provides better range than the 9040 and they can be connected to the system as an analog extension. The down-side is they don't provide all the functionality of a system phone and most people don't like that.
Now if you are really itching to spend some money you could look at Spectralink. They provide good coverage and they can interface to the Definity. Spectralink can set up multiple zones, or cells, and the user is passed from cell to cell and they move around your facility.

I have a 9040 with a Definty G3csi CM2.1. It's Ok if you are going to use 1 or 2 phones. If you are deploying many wireless phones. Look at Spectralink. It is a much better product, but the cost is a lot more.
