We are disconneting our Megacom Trunk group which carries our 800 numbers. We need to redirect the DNIS digits associated with these 800 numbers to another trunk group. I can not figure out how the system is routing the calls to the Megacom group. I have checked the Route patterns and even did a "list trace tac" to try and determine how the system is routing the calls. We have an Avaya Definity PBX system. Can someone please offer some assistance?

800 inbound calls are routed by your service provider. You need to call them. They will provide you the DNIS digits provided. to see where they terminate in your switch "list extension-type (xxxx)" x= the DNIS presented. 800 numbers usally point to a phone number/DID. Could be an extension, hunt-group, VDN, Terminating extension or LDN.

It is also possible that your Definity is doing some type of digit conversion. Example the LEC sends you 1111 and you stirp 4 digits and insert 2222.

If you run a 'list trace tac XXX' and call the toll free number you should see the call hit your switch. To check for digit conversion look on the trunk group from page 3, unless you are running CM3.X then that form has been moved to 'disp incoming'.
