Does anyone know of a default password for the Avaya 4621 IP phones when it comes to resetting them. The only way we are able to do it now is to enter the password into ASA software, then reset. It would be nice if when it asks for the password we could enter a generic one to complete the reset. This would save time so we didn't have to make the change in programming prior to reset. Your help is appreciated.

I am not very familiar yet with the resetting the IP phones but here are some ways of resetting 5600 and 4600 series IP phones:

Display of network settings
-press the Hold key (do not hold down)
-dial 8439#
(corresponds to Hold VIEW#)

Reset the device
-press the Hold key (do not hold down)
dial 73738# (corresponds to Hold RESET#)

Important: Within 20 seconds after successfull resetting the device, it is possible to access network programming by pressing the star (*) key!

check out page 94. Unnamed registration.

You could also set qkloginstat to 1. That will retain the password when a user logs out.
