Just installed a DSS onto a 4424LD console.
It does not work. Is programming need?

Thanks

Yes, you must program the PAGES to fit your Extension Numbering Plan.

That is done under SYSTEM RENUMBER > SINGLE > MORE > DSS Buttons.

The default starting number is 50, and can only be done in units of 50 to 100.

Merlinman

Did as above, did not activate the DSS.
I put in 100 as the starting number.
NG, did I miss something?

Thanks
Ken

Doesn't that thing require external power?

When you say that the DSS does not work or that it is not "activated", do you mean that none of the LEDs are lit?

If so, then I would check the cable connecting the 4424LD+ and the DSS. The power supply that comes with the 4424LD+ phone will drive the phone's large display as well as up to two DSSs. It's the 4424D+ that requires an external power.

You should also know that a DSS will only work on stations that are defined as a DLC or QCC. This is a "gotcha" that is frequently overlooked.

100 is the right number only in case your extensions starts at 100 and up. By default it is two digits numbering plan starts with 10. make sure that the DSS page matches your numbering plan.

Do you have all pair punched on the jack or only One pair? has to be all 4.

4424LD+ is a Magix telephone, it's just a single pair.

Can you print the extension information for the phone in question, and post it here?

Tommy,
One pair to the PS and 2 pair out. 1 pair to phone and 2nd pair to power a Console.

OK, now we need to get down to the BASICS.

If you PRESS Intercom > Speaker > Star Zero Zero,

The PHONE and the DSS will go into SELF TEST MODE.

Do that and let us know if the DSS Lights Up all buttons.

Also, go to MAINTENANCE > Port > Station, ENTER THE EXTENSION Number involved and select STATUS.

That should show (A) they type of Phone connected and (B) if it has a DSS attached or not.

It will also show the SLOT and Port. Post that info and we can provide additional info once we know those things.

And, it wouldn't be a bad idea to print and post a copy of the "EXT INFO" information as well.

I was using the default numbers wrongly.
There are 120 ext. I started with 150 on page 1, changed pg 1 to 50, pg 2 to 50, pg 3 to 50.

Works great.
Thanks again

Something is wrong with the page numbers. If you have 120 extensions how come your first page is 50 if you supposed to have 3 digits numbering plan? Your 1st page suppose to be 1xx, 2xx, 3xx, etc., second increased by 50 and the 3rd again increased by 50. Explain please!
