I will be expanding a customers system. Right now they have a ACS r 7.0 with the 9 phones and 9 lines. We have a two slot carrier with a Partner ACS r7.0 with a Partner PC card voicemail and a 400ec card.

We will be adding a 5 slot carrier and a ACS 308 EC r3 card to support 3 more lines and 4 more stations.

Here's my question. Should I put the 400ec card in the slot farest to the left (1st slot) and the new 308 card just to the left of the Processor (slot 2) or should the 400EC card go int slot 4 and the new 308 card in slot 1.

Please keep in mind that I want to keep the extenions and Line assignment in the same order so i don't have to re-wire anything.

To avoid gaps in the available extension numbers try this:

|308|400ec|Processor|empty|empty|

Processor = extensions 10->18
308ec = extensions 19->26

The ports assigned to the Partner Voice Messaging stay the same (78 & 79).

It would be a good idea to change the batteries in the acs b4 you shut the system down.

They are changed with the POWER ON.

Thanks guys it went fine.

Didn't need to change batteries because the system is lees that 6-months old. But thanks for the tip in the future. I didn't even think about it.
