I'm a data guy helping out a friend move is office. He has a Lucent Partner ACS with 2 POTs lines coming in.
My question is: At the new office do I order 2 standard POTs lines and have the telco make them roll over or do I only need 2 pots lines and the ACS will handle the rollover?

Once that is solve, I then come out of the extension ports on the ACS to my 110 block and punch down to each extension via 4 wire circuit.

I should be able to power down the unit and move it and install the 2 new lines? Am I close? :-)

Rollover comes from the provider, not the ACS.
ACS uses 2pr for system phones, 1pr for analog.
Might want to change the batteries before power down.

Good Luck.

Thanks - I changed the battereis today and I have it configured for telco to rollover the lines. Just plug the main line into port 1 and the rollover line into port 2.

The LEC does the hunting when sending calls out to the customer. The Partner ACS does the hunting when sending calls out to the LEC.

Thanks - so is it as simple as powering down, movin and powering back up with two new POTs lines?

Basically....yes. I would also suggest that you back up the system configuration to the PCMCIA card before powering down. Should something go wrong during the move, you will be able to reload from it.

How do I backup to the card. I see you press #124 from the handset for a manual backup. However, I did that and #124 is on the display. How do you get it to execute the command?

That info is more of a administrator question rather than a user end Hightide.

Good rule of thumb is: In the open forums user end questions only.
Your question should be asked in the installers forum.

I see you press #124 from the handset...

That could be your problem. Try doing it on the phone keypad.

Apparently you are looking at something to get this information. The documentation should have all the information you need.
