Im new to the industry, but I have had enough training to know when not to mess with a swtich.

I want to be able to transfer to voicemail without two things happening.

1: My Avaya 4621 rings back at me when I trns the calls.
2. If the user I am trans the call to is on the line, his/her call is interrupted with a short call waiting ring before it goes to vm.

Help. Newbie in awe of how complicated all of this is......

I assume you have IP Office. What version and what voice mail?

I have Communication Manager Version 4.1 and Modular Messaging 3.1.

1. Not sure I understand what you mean by your "4621" rings back at you when you transfer a call..can you explain more?

2. This is normal as a short ring will appear on the users phone to let them know another call is coming in and going to coverage...You can use the "direct transfer" to vm feature access code in the system if you would like I guess but if the person is at their desk they will never get a chance to answer the call !!

'disp feat'. Note the transfer to voice mail FAC. To use, transfer FAC transfer.

Ahhh the ringing.

When I place a call on hold, the set has a reminder ring of some sort to let me know they are still on hold. It does the same thing when I do a transfer. Is there any way to stop this?

Thanks wellco and Liquid. That worked.

FYI: Love the hat!
