I have a 3920 package (base, handset, repeater) to test and have a couple of questions...(if this info is in documentation somewhere, please point me in the right direction).

1) If the handset needs to be replaced for whatever reason, can a handset only be purchased and registered to the base and repeater or must the complete package be purchased?

2) Can more than one handset be registered to a base?

3) Can more than one handset be registered to a repeater?

...or...is the 3920 a "package" setup where as if I want four cordless handsets I would have to buy four bases with handsets and if required, a repeater for each base/handset?

Thanks again, DT98

1) Any 9620 handset can register to any base
2) Two handsets can register to a single base but only one can function at a time. The paired handset can join the same call if conference is pressed on the active phone.
3) Each repeater only supports one extension.
Repeaters can be daisy-chained 3 deep or 6 per base. In a hub/spoke or combination with a spoke with up to 3 chained repeaters.
4) Repeaters MUST be 30ft away from any other repeater, makes it hard with installations with more than one 9620. You cannot cluster repeaters in the sme area otherwise dropped calls can happen during base and repeater handoffs.

Hi gkar,

Is the 9620 the ip cordless?
The one I have is 3920 and it's not an ip cordless...(as far as I know..I have it working on an ACS sta port...)

Do the same parameters apply to both the 9620 and 3920 as far as bases and repeaters? If so you are correct in that it makes having multiple handsets in the same area a problem.

Thanks again...

The 9620 is an IP deskset...

Thanks Hal,

I guess I'm still looking for 3920 repeater info? Maybe gkar's info is correct except for the model number...

I know each cordless handset requires it's own base but I'm not totally sure if the repeaters must be dedicated to each base/handset...
