I have chased the static ghost that first appeared in voice mail messages. I changed out the Audix to the back-up clone system with no change in the static problem. CO analog trunks test clear and the voice T-1 shows no or minimal errors. Today I found the static by a direct call to one of six voice mail ports. It was port 6. This occured once and would not repeat during numerous repeat calls to that and all other ports. The Audix connects via ports 13-16 on 016 card #1 and ports 1 & 2 on 016 card #2.
Any history, help or suggestions? I plan to swap the two cards and eventually move the Audix to an 012 card farther back in the cabinet if necessary. ????

Sounds like your on the right track by swaping out the 016's.

Avoid 016 blades with COMCODE 617F34. As I recall, the outermost eight ports (four at top and four at the bottom) had issues with either static, one way communication or would "go to sleep".

Your right on Tim....I have (2) 617F34's sitting here on the floor that we are going to use for "target practice" when it gets warm out...We chased static problem for 2-weeks before we found the problem with those....
Best thing to do is get them out of the switch...

Cool. Minor correction in nomenclature: the COMCODE is 108514183; the part number? is 617F34.
