Hey folks,

I have a [should be] simple question, so I'm really glad I found this forum...

My office {small, remote office of a big company} has a Lucent Partner ACS phone system. We got it used, had an Avaya guy set it up (in 2002), and haven't changed anything since.

Our company name just changed, and we need to change the attendant greeting that callers hear....except we have no idea how to change the message, and the OEM "Programming and Use" book is almost useless. Might as well be written in Mandarin. Anyway....

I Googled for instructions, but what I found won't work. This is what I found:

~~~~~~~~~~~~
How to Change Day Greeting on Partner Messaging
•Dial intercom 777
•Enter 0 #
•Enter Password #
•Press 9 to get into System Administration mode
•Press 3 for Automated Attendant administration
•Press 1 Automated Attendant 1
•Press 1 for day menu or 2 for night menu
•Press 6 to modify menu
•Press * # (to by-pass Selector Code changes)
•Press 1 to record your new greeting
•Record new greeting when done Press 1 to stop recording.
•Press * # to save the change
~~~~~~~~~~~

But if I enter "0" at step 2, my "call" gets "transferred to the receptionist", and her intercom rings.

If I substitute "10" for "0", I get into the receptionists VM [after entering her password], but "option 9" doesn't exist.

I have until 17:00 today to get our message changed, and I'm *LOST*.

What am I doing wrong?

Help!
Then your voice mail is NOT a Partner Messaging (which is what your cheat sheet is for). It is probably a Partner Mail VS.

Press Intercom and dial 777, then carefully listen to the phrase that you hear. Post that back, and I'm sure we can help you.
Ah-HA!!

The friendly lady who lives inside my phone said "Welcome to PartnerMail VS"

So I guess I was following the wrong instructions.

Got the right ones?

Many, many thanks!
Eurika!!

Now that I know what I'm looking for (PM-VS), I found it....

Thanks for the guidance!

Edited to remove link. PM sent to OP.
