a guy called and wants a voicemail for his merlin. is there anything that will work well on a merlin. i dont think its a legend. i konw i need to find out which one it is. thanks dave

My first thought would be "Don't do it". I remember the Voysys would work on a Merlin--but even back in the '90s--it just wasn't worth the time and effort. MW lites on the phones might be an issue, too.

Depending on the size of the system, I would think that a used Partner ACS with a VM card would be a better deal for the customer and for you.

And with Voysys, you have that whole issue with having to lie about any year past 2000 or the day/date will be incorrect.

I'm quite sure a DuVoice would integrate with a Merlin, but Mick is right. He should either get telco voicemail or do a forklift upgrade to a system that was designed with voicemail from the beginning.

In its day Voysys was a useable VM. However its DAY is LONG gone.......

If the customer wants to keep his Classic Merlin phones, an upgrade to the final release of the Merlin Legend might be worth exploring.
