Trying to get this to work before it needs to be deployed, and from the research I've done looks like it will work with IPO Partner mode 7.0(27). I changed the IP/Subnet/DG/Port on the IPO and could access it fine through the network/ping it. Set up the email paramaters first in the Advanced Settings tab -> SMTP to coincide with our server, no authentication necessary, and put the IP address of where the exchange server resides. Then in the user put the email address on and tried Copy/Forward/Alert all to no avail.

Side note, the VM notification works fine off of our other system with the same parameters as input into the IPO. The only difference is that the other system doesn't use the IP address that the exchange server resides on, but uses the DN.

I also tried this attempting to utilize my gmail account to no avail. Had it set up for authentication that time but I could not 100% insure that those were the correct settings like I could with our private server.

Am I missing something or am I chasing something that isn't just possible in the Partner mode?

You will probably need to use SysMon, and select only the Email check box on the CALL tab. This will show the SMTP errors.

You will not get Google to work without a relay, as gmail needs TLS encrypted accounts. This has been put in as a GRIP request, but may be a year out before implemented.

Assuming here, but the IPO is on the same subnet as the email server, right?

Why Partner Edition, and not IP OFfice Editino?

Yeah I opened sysmon and was looking for an smtp or email parameter but must've overlooked it, I'll check on that.

IPO and the server are both on 255.255.255.0 subnet.

Partner edition mainly because I relate to the partner side more heh.

I agree with Matt, "Why Partner Mode"?

99 times out of 100 when we upgrade a Partner customer, once we explain the benefits of not using "Partner Mode" compared to "Essential or Preferred". The customer goes with IPO mode.

Also remember that Partner Mode doesn't DHCP on either LAN 1 or WAN (LAN 2). "Partner Mode" already has an IP address assigned.

Good Luck,

Wouldn't Partner mode be used/preferred if using as a simple key system in a small deployment?

I have to disagree, Over the last 5 years of being an Avaya Business Partner, the equipment that I have received from my distributor has had very few problems. I bet that I can count on one hand the pieces of equipment that were DOA and even less defective units after they were installed.
