Using a Partner Mail VS Rev.4. The system is a Partner ACS 308 (R 3.0.3)When the Auto Attendant is enabled (immediate answer) I do not receive Caller ID. If I set it for delayed answer I get caller ID. Does the VMS hunt delay setting determine the number of rings before the auto attendant answers? It is set at two rings now and Caller ID is not working. Would it be better to use the ASA Delay (#110) instead? I would like to confirm this before I show up at the customer site.
You need at least 2 rings for the caller id to pass to the system,to be safe
set it at 3
If the problem is people picking up before the attendant ,turn off the ringers .

#506 is your delay

ASA ,you would need a card and asa is used to answer a call
and put it on hold and doubt it would help you.

We always set ringing to delayed versus no ring .... that way if all of the ports are busy or the voice mail fails then callers don't get RNA.
Thank you for the prompt responses. What program allows / prevents stations from receiving CID when the call is transferred from the auto attendant?
No feature code, the feature of receiving CID on transfer from the auto attendant was introduced on Release 6 of the ACS. You might try a Caller ID Inspect button, which you turn on, press the ringing line to see the CID without actually answering the call, then turn the Inspect off to answer.
Thanks Tommy. I will suggest this to the customer. They have also shown an interest in upgrading to IP. They may not want to go to Release 6 and might skip that step and go to a full IP solution.

The R6 is a simple 1 minute software upgrade for an ACS. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Of course if they want more problems go right ahead and upgrade to an IPO.

I agree. I'll pass on the IPO. There are several other options in the IP world.
