I have a partner ACS r6 with a 308EC expansion card. For some odd reason everytime the phones ring any extension with a button programmed for ext 21 starts winking the light for ext 21. The only exception is if I actually answer the call from 21. The only way it seems for me to stop the winking is to unplug the station cable from the module going to station 21. FWIW its three fast winks, a pause and three fast winks, repeating ad-nauseum. Any thoughts?
Just some thoughts on my part.
Does x21 function properly otherwise? Is x21 added to Hunt Group #7 in error?
it seems to function properly otherwise. I will check if it is in HG 7 but I doubt it. Wouldn't the other phones not ring or some other weird thing be happening if that were the case?
Just Checked: NO extensions assigned to HG 7
One other thing. I was wrong about it doing that every time the phone rings. It only seems to do it when the phone rings and no one answers it. The answering machine is NOT connected thru the partner system, so as far as the partner is concerned, the call was abandoned after 5 rings. Maybe that has something to do with it?
Ext. 21 is administered as a Fax Extension (#601) - the blinking light at the other extensions when it rings and is not answered indicates that your "fax machine" is out of paper (think back a long time ago, when faxes used thermal paper rolls).
Just unassign it (#601-21-2) and all will be right again.
