Customer has an old Avaya system.
They're trying to change the main greeting on the auto attendant
Process says:
777 ( they can only enter 77 )
0 #
password #
They're getting invalid at the password
Original dealer is no more
Looking for a way to reset admin password
Any help would be appreciated

777 gets you into voicemail. Sounds like you are already there ... when you're entering 77 you're trying to access the mailbox for extension 77 not the admin mailbox.
press intercom and dial 777
after it answers dial 0 #
then for password dial 1234 #
then for password dial 1234 #
With Partner Messaging the password is eight digits. If you don't know the password you will have to have somebody from here remote in and reset it for you. There may be a fee.

I've never used 8 digest for password.
Out of the box, the minimum password length is 6. There is no default password on the admin mailbox, it is set by the programmer on the first login. Then you can go to security settings and change the minimum password length all the way down to 0 (no password checking) and as high as 16. If you lowered the password length, you could then back out and change the admin password to the same length if you wanted, but why open it up to abuse?
Yes, it's been awhile. Default minimum was 6 but I always used 8. The administrator could have made it anything as long as it was more than 6 and I guess no more than 16. I could never see using less than 8.
