hello guys my customer has an sts system and they say the incoming call rings sounds too much like the hold recall tone. they dont want to change the ring tone but rather the hold recall tone. can this be done. thanks dave
No option to do that in the documentation.
i came up empty handed too. have to call the customer and give a little bad news. first time i had that complaint. thanks for checking. dave
If you set the station ring tone to something different, it will sound different when a line is recalling from hold. It will not affect an initial co line ring. That would be the only way to do it. Of course this means an internal call (if their phone is in the "T" mode) would also have the different ring tone.
Heres what the manual says:
Conditions
» Station users may listen to all tones by dialing the 2-digit codes one after another. The
tone that is sounding when the SPEED button is pressed is saved as that station’s tone
ringing selection.
» A station’s tone ringing selection is maintained in a battery protected area of memory.
Therefore, if a system experiences a power failure or a soft or hard restart, the tone
ringing selection is restored.
» The tone selected provides TONE ringing normal or muted to the station whenever the
station is commanded to tone ring (i.e., this excludes Camp On tone programming
confirmation tones or other specific tones not considered TONE ringing).
» The selected tone is used to notify the station in the following cases:
- Incoming CO Call
- Incoming Intercom Call
- Transferred CO Line
- Recalling CO Line
- Call Back Notification
- Message Wait Call Back
- All Types of Forwarded Calls
- Executive/Secretary calls
- Line Queue Call Back
- LCR Queue Call Back
» CO Line Distinctive Ring Tone supersedes station ring tone and Call Coverage Distinctive
Ringing.
Ok. Tested it out. Actually you have to have the co line set to anything other than "00" for this to work. I have my phone set to "11" and the line to "01" and it works, but I couldn't find a setting that really emulates the "00" sound. Sorry, hope this helps.
I don't know about Deavetel adteldon, but that was quite alot of researching and effort for one question. I am constantly amazed at the altruism and desire to be of help to those who are in need from this particular forum. Just a bunch of people trying to help one another. Guys like yourself, Derrick, NFCphoneman, Justbill, Rather Be Fishing, Draynor, Mezzman, oobie and on and on. I am tremendously appreciative of all those who have help me and hope that at one time or another I can also pay it forward.
Well it was a little slow around here that day Ted, so I did what I could. There are definitely others in here that contribute more than I do and you named a few. I'm sure you will get your chance to pay it forward at some point. Thanks for the compliment brother!
