my customer has an sbx, a 3.5 and it drops calls often when held or transfered. it happens when the taken off hold or from the transfer almost immeadiatly. anyone else had this problem. thanks dave
Loop start trunks I take it? Have you measured the loop current? Weird crap happens on many systems if that is out of spec or close to it. Gone are the days when KSUs used space-division analog switching and could hook up to any dirty trunk with little issue.
I think the callers can't stand the MOH so they hang up...just kidding of course.
yes they are loop start and no i didnt check the loop current. didnt think of that. i defaulted the system and waiting to get feedback. if the problem persists i will check the loop current. as to the moh, it is the internal system provided so who knows!
after i defaulted the system didnt hear anything and then got a call for a couple dropped calls yesterday. they drop after the transfer when the party trys to connect. i did check the loop current on that line and it was in proper range. but i did see that line is going through a alarm. i think this may be interfering with the transfers. anyone have any input on this. thanks dave
Ever heard of Occam's Razor? The simplest cause of a problem is usually correct.
A...there is a tech monitoring the line and when a call is transferred he flicks his test set on and off hook and drops the call.
B...the line is attached to a malfunctioning alarm system that is going on and off hook or dragging down the line current thus dropping the call.
C...a transferred call is ringing on a set, the person receiving the call, goes off hook, presses the flashing line key, not knowing they have answered the call by simply going off hook, and when they press the line button they disconnect the caller.
i hadnt thought of condition 3. very possible she is pressing the line button and loosing the call that way. going to call them monday and explain this possibility. thank you for the idea derrick. dave
