I'm hoping there is a solution for this, I have numerous users complaining that they cannot decrease the hands free phone volume to Zero or Very Low. Yet the Volume on the phone display is (00 of 00-12).

Tech support has suggested I adjust the (Maintenance) TDM Gain, TDM Gain P408-418, Index #1 <Load>, DKT-HF, DKT-HF(0-63), to a lower value. It was originally set on 26, but regardless of this setting (0, 5), the phone volume will not go to Zero.

My biggest issue is on All Call/Pages coming over the phone speaker, if the page volume alone could be reduced, it would be helpful. The customer needs the phone page, but not at a high volume as it is.

Any guidance appreciated.
I seem to recall that the system must be rebooted once changes to the various gain settings have been made. Have you tried this? I hate to ask such a basic question, but...
Thanks Ed.

No I haven't rebooted it. I was kind of getting advice from HEB tech support, and he said he has not tried to change this setting before.

After I indicated the DKT-HF setting made no difference, our conversation then went to, maybe the phones' volume setting must be set to 50%/06 instead of '00' of 12, before changing the DKT-HF(0-63) value. This didn't work either.

I didn't think of rebooting because no other programming change I have ever made in the past required rebooting. But I must say, the Loud Tone preceding the All Call/Page is HATED by my customers, I tried turning it down or off too without success. The Summit 80 system has a few oddities like this I have not been able to correct to satisfy customers, things I've not ever had issues with in other systems.

I will try it.
Can you turn the phone volume down while a page is happening? I'm not sure as I've never tried it.

If you're just changing "DKT-HF, DKT-HF" then the only volume that should change is when an internal caller calls another extension while both use the speakerphone. Is that what you're trying to accomplish? If not, you'll need to adjust other settings DKT-HS, ACO (if using analog COs), VSF, etc.

You should be able to turn off the page warning ton in System Attributes, right?
We were trying to turn the speaker volume down during a Page (its on 00 of 12) yes.

We changed the "DKT-HF, DKT-HF (0-63)" value as advised by tech support, to decrease the Page volume to the speaker, it did not.
We have analog CO lines, didn't test them on speaker.

So neither DTT-HF or DKT-HS will lower page volume to phone speakers? The phone's volume control does provide a medium(00) to high volume(12) control, but users want the volume control(on page) greatly reduced to a whisper if the want. Its quite loud set at 00.

We (HEB tech support and I) looked for the 'turn off warning tone' but all we could find as I recall was a table with tone frequency, durations, times, etc. When I set the tone duration or frequency to '0' we lost audio output to the external amplifier or something silly unrelated. I'll look in system attributes for the pw tone off next time I'm on site.

My plan B is Black Gaffers Tape (matches phone color and texture) but I hoped I wouldn't have to go there...
