On a SX-200 SMDR port recently stopped working, tested PMS PC port and its ok.
Anyway in PC programming , maintenance, to check the SMDR status?

thanks

Enter Maintenance, go to system, monitor, smdr, enter. What type of SX-200 do you have?

Thanks for the reply DRPBX!

The system is a SX-200 superswitch.
another quick question:
to connect to the switch via direct connect
is it through hyper terminal?
and I know the default password is 1000 but is there a default user name? (possibly mitel?)

thanks

Yes, you can use hyperterm. Try installer as a username

Sometimes the printer port can get "shut down" i.e. it received an XON/XOFF command. You can restart it by connecting your pc to the smdr port, set the correct baud rate, and send a Control Q or Z to the port. If those don't work try X,C,S and D. I don't run into this enough to remember for sure
