I am very new to the mitel system and am having trouble with the hyperterminal session.

I can connect to the system by hitting enter 4 times and selecting a terminal type (i have tried them all). Then i select maintenance or CED and enter my password.

After that I can see the menu, however they are surrounded by different characters instead of the lines it shows in the book and it will not allow me to enter any menu items.

That is what the lines look like. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

check your terminal emulation, it should be VT100/200, you probably have yours on ANSI-BBS

forgot to add sometimes you need to hit ctrl+W or +R to refresh screen
