Nothing will print out of the port- automatic wake-up print is enabled, trk gp smdr is on, baud rate 300, 8, n, 1, innforms xl and printer set for 300 baud. Laptop direct into printer port, set wake-up at the console, and nothing prints. If you have an icp as controller, can't you then use the printer port on the el (peripheral cabinet), or is it then disabled?
I dont believe you can, you need the printer port on the controller, or a Precidia device and use the socket connection
Printer port on peripheral cabinets provide acces to the bay control III card.

Thanks for the nice compliment, When I grow up I want to be just like you !
In regards to this printer issue, I just got back from a customers site where I used the rs232 to rs485 convertors I posted about earlier. Ran the output of their printer port well over 300' on existing cat 3 wiring to a remote call accounting computer and all is working well. This was alot cheaper solution than a dataset.
P.S.
