Guys I am not that familiar with the 3300 but I have some people that are talking about setting up a hotel and or hotels running off a 3300 at a co-location. so ostensibly what this will mean is that the 3300 is at a separate location and the hotels will be running off the switch via IP protocol. will peripheral nodes be on the site to deliver dial tone to the rooms. etc. Can someone give me an overview on this situaion please.

No bites on this one, huh? Well I think I figured it out and the answer is NO - can't do that.

Dane, the basic layout of the 3300 is identical to that of the SX200icp.
The main brain, and IP functionality are contained in the "bay 1" unit.
Most types of TDM applications require peripheral nodes.
The peripheral nodes are connected to the 3300 via CIM or FIM modules.
We're doing a co-location scenario where a few PRI's are consolidated into one 3300, and then over the private network, are connected to a handful off 3300's, using IP trunks as we used to use point to point T1's.

Thanks - yeah I understand that is possible, but these guys seemed to think that they could have one 3300 at a central location and then just have nodes at remote. I told them no - can't be done.

we just bought 2 3300's + teleworker.
But you can connect the phone through your WAN to your central location: its all IP, isn't it;-)

If you have your own private WAN, there's no need for the telworker solution.
The teleworker allows you to plug into the internet, and connect back to your server, which sits between the 3300, and the internet.
