Hello! My first official post in the Mitel section. In a couple day's we're moving from a Comdial DXP to a Mitel 3300 Mxe system. One question that came up that the vendor couldn't seem to figure out, was whether or not on the 3300 you can activate/deactivate call forwarding via outside phone. Our DXP, while a little convulted, can do it through the voicemail system.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jeff
Mitel handles phone twinning on the ME application server, which can be activated with either gui or tui interface. The other option if you use call forwarding, which would overide call re-routing, would be to setup a disa trunk to handle remote feature access applications.
Why not set up personal contact in their voicemail box. It can be changed by them in their voicemail box and you simply change your greeting to say " Hello this is Dave if you need to reach me press 2(caller is forwarded to cell phone)if not leave message. If the person wants to eliminate rings simply forward extension straight to voicemail through the phone...then all the caller hears is message above
Using the personal contact is really how it should be done, but my boss who is stuck in "everybody else can do it" mode seems to think this HAS to happen on this system, even though there's 400 better ways to accomplish the same task.

I think the vendor managed to find a solution via using DISA and feature codes, but I haven't seen the final answer yet.

Thanks for the help!
I don't think you're going to get anymore than that. It's not really VM's job to control call forwarding in the PBX.
