Ok since I'm on a roll with phones this week - we can access missed calls on the 5340, however we can't call them back because the phone doesn't insert the 9 necessary. Is there any way to fix this? Telling the user to press 9 and then the button just isn't a good answer.
bump?
The only way to do it in my opinion to create a routing for that COS that would insert 9 in the Routing string and then delete it.
Well that seems to me it would be the same as direct to ARS and that would be fine, but then how are you going to call internal extensions?
Dont worry about ARS. In the system options assignment look for:
Outgoing External Call Prefix For Applications:
Enter whatever number you use to dial out 8,9...
Oooh that looks like the proper setting, but it was already set to 9! The help files indicate it would be bypassed if "manual prefix editing" was done on the phone, but I don't believe it is as far as I know.

I also tried removing, saving, then re-entering the 9, saving, and then even rebooting the phone. No help.
Sigh..

Note: On 5330 and 5340 IP Phones, the Dial softkey under the call history application does not add the prefix digits that are programmed in the "Outgoing External Call Prefix For Applications" field in the System Options Assignment form. Users must use the keypad to add the outgoing prefix digit(s) to the number before pressing Dial.

Glad we paid all this money for this system!
If the trunks are digital (PRI) I think it may be a solution in "Incoming Call Characteristics" in "Calling Party Number Prefix Insertion" in "National Cqpn Prefix:9" - that is in IMAT but I think is a form for embeded too.
