I was doing some changes from the console on a newly-installed SX200 ICP. The customer wanted a 4150 to be a sub-attendant instead of a station.

First weirdness: Changing the phone to a sub-attendant removed the "Trans/Conf" softkey. They can no longer transfer a call if it's answered there.

Second weirdness: I first put the new Sub-ATT into the Console COS, but because of the missing transfer softkey, created a new COS for Sub-ATTs. As soon as I changed the COS of the Sub-ATT, the console locked up, keeping me from exiting CDE. It became completely unresponsive to all keys.

I was finally able to restore the Console by pressing the release key. The Console operates normally, places and receives calls, but on any attempt to access "Applications" it freezes until the "release" key is pressed.

All phones work normally, and there are no alarms. (I didn't have the laptop with me, and was forced to use the console for the changes).

Any thoughts on this?
I'd reboot once.
As soon as I'm reasonably sure that traffic is minimal.

I have had issues before with programming from the console and would try rebooting as western said and then program via telnet or the maint. port What version software is it running
ICP 5.0.0.1 s/w.

Rebooting the system corrected the console issue.

I still have a problem with the Sub-ATT not permitting transfers. I've gone though COS and System Options with a fine-toothed comb. Any thoughts?
What kind of keys do you have programmed on the sub-att?
6 LDNs, 2 Hold Positions. I also tried adding a flash and a double flash, to no avail. Those are hard keys.

The Trans/Conf used to be a softkey.
The "enhanced sub-attendant features" isn't a COS thing is it?
If it is, I didn't find it.
When you changed the phone did you delete all the keys and the phone then reprogram as a 4150 subatt? What happens if you call another phone from the 4150? Do you get the Trans/Conf softkey? COS Option 606 SS telephone enhanced answering.
Hi, Steve.

Yes,
As described,
No,
I'll check option 606.

Thanks!
606 is enabled in the COS.

Right now, the following are enabled in the COS (some are not needed):
101, 102, 104 - 109, 111, 115-119, 122, 123, 125, 150
202, 203, 205, 211-213, 218, 225, 232, 240, 245, 246, 248-251, 253-259, 262, 263, 267, 273, 279, 281
312-320, 322, 404, 406, 502, 503, 505-509
606, 610, 618, 620, 624, 650-652, 702, 800, 803, 805, 809, 813, 905
I would try disabling 203, 205, and 257 and try that.
You definitely don't want Brokers' Call!
I was trying anything...

I'll take those out and see what happens.
Follow up: Chalk this up to, "Well, DUH!"

I was testing the SubATT by dialing its extension number from the console. In that case, it could not transfer. But in any other case, such as answering an LDN, it transfers fine.

The problem was resolved on one of my first attempts, but I have no idea which one b/c I was testing incorrectly. ARGH.
