I have an issue with the trunks disconnecting everyday. It doesn't happen on every call but by the end of the day my trunks get all tied up and I have to manually disconnect it only happens on my LS/GS card in slot 9. I have replaced the card and it still does it. the are pots lines on the card. Here is the data programming:

How many actual trunks do you have? What is on equipment #078 (what station and why)?

Have you verified polarity, loop supervision and line voltage on these trunks? Real PBXs require the true FCC standards for signaling. My guess is that they are running at a voltage significantly below standards, as those delivered behind a channel bank or IAD. Worse yet, there is no open loop supervision being provided by the service provider upon disconnect of the INCOMING calls that hit these trunks.

The PBX will allow them to be siezed once, but not again. If they do not receive the appropriate loop supervision disconnect from the telco, the trunks aren't told to drop the call that was in progress, hence the trunk ports remaining engaged. The PBX is only doing what it is told to do (or in your case not).

Loop supervision is an issue that grows increasingly frustrating for us in the business daily. Telcos and CLECs simply don't understand that a POTS line isn't as simple as they think it is.

Get the service provider to provide this, verify your polarity of all trunks and things will be fine. Oh, and don't take their word for it. Verify it yourself. You will be amazed how well the system works once you tell them how to fix the problem.

Sarcasm intended on that last sentence, well sort of....

For each trunk, register 2, bit F, change from 1 to 0.
Dropping the disconnect timer makes the trunks more sensitive to disconnects.
