I have customer with 200 ICP in a hotel. Installed by others.

Many many guest rooms have message waiting lit, for months. when you press voicemail button, a password is requested. Haven't tried the password myself.

I Found out the manager turned off the PMS integration (due to cost, he says ?).

So at this point I believe No PMS integration is the reason the m/w is still lit.

Is there a way to set the voicemail to auto-delete messages, including new unheard messages?

Do they still use the voicemail?

Sounds like the mail boxes are built as ext , instead of guest mail boxes

Oops!! Sorry!

Okay....

First, as Xeta-tech said, chances are that the mailboxes are extension boxes instead of guest. If that's not it, or even if it is, set a FAC for Message Waiting Deactivate or for Clear All Features of for Callback Cancel.

Using those FACs from the guestroom should clear the message lights.

Second, regarding the PMS integration "turned off" do you mean that he changed the option in form 4 (option 107/108) or that he disconnected the iPocket or that he didn't buy an interface for his PMS, or ???

If PMS was already enabled, he won't save money by turning it off, and it won't hurt to have it turned on if he just doesn't want to pay for an interface (the other cost associated with PMS).

So that makes no sense.

If there really are voicemail messages to delete, you can go to form 50 and delete messages, or just delete and rebuild the mailboxes. You can also use a "Front Desk" mailbox to reset guestroom mailboxes.

Call a reputable Mitel technician and form a relationship that can save you money and make your customers happy, not irritated.

If you confirm that the rooms are guest mailboxes, set up a front desk phone with a front desl mailbox and have the site manually check in/out the mailboxes. Or the property casn have housekeeping clear messages from the MB once the room checks out. No auto delete as far as I know

Fully integrated PMS and VM will reset the mail box when the room is checked out via PMS. If the system is set for PMS, doing ANYTHING to the room without PMS becomes a real Pain!
In all probability, your customer has changed/dropped the flag and the PMS is no longer usable! Many do away with PMS because of the 'big brother' aspect. (Being charitible here)

@LH

Or they were required to change from a local server based PMS to an online based PMS and the price of the interface is too costly. One of the Flags require this change, charge you for the equipment they provide, charge you for a set amount of phone TS and have the property connect everything properly. Most managers can hardly spell network let alone try to connect the equipment to one.
