Hello. We inherited a Tie Communications 1236B KSU when we moved into our office and we haven't gotten around to replacing it with a more modern system yet. :>
We were trying to figure out why only some of the phones in the office ring when a call comes in, while others do not.
There are three station cards in the system, aparrently in a configuration so that the 7 phones that we have in the office are numbered 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, & 33 (the third card is unused). Right now, only stations 30 and 33 are ringing when a call comes in. Near as we can figure, the DIP switches on the ECMU card control which phones ring, because if we change them, we get less phones ringing [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]. The DIP switches are set DSS1: 01100000 DSS2: 00000000. We'd like it if we could have stations 30, 31, and 33 ring.
Does anyone have something that describes what these DIP switches do and how to configure them? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It's been awhile since I work on one of those. You can program ringing with the DSS that works with station 20. As far as the dip switches, the settings tell the DSS what phone to work with.We need to know if you have a option card in the system because depending on what option card you have the programming can be different. We need to know exactly what's in there so we can help ya.

Well first of all you have to have have a phone that the primary DSS is assigned to.If you can dial INTERCOM 0 and it goes to one of the DSS stations , that is the one you must program from.It gets very involved after that. You will need some one with a cell phone to work with a tech.If you can't find one to help you e-mail me and we can set up a time for you to call in. There will be a support charge for this service, but it is very reasonable.
