When i check my vm's i have to cycle all of my old ones to hear a new one. It always says "the message will be deleted when you leave the mailbox" But it never deleted. ???

not when you "leave" but when you "exit "your mailbox , try following the prompts and exit the mailbox

i get no prompts to delete. only exit listen mode. and some other prompts but no delete prompt. it just says message will be erased when you exit your mailbox.

right then follow the prompts to exit the mailbox , don't just hang up

you may have to o out to get to the main mailbox menu . I'll look at the user guide when I get in later and see what it says but I do recall this causing some confusion
