I can't find my startalk manual. Does anyone remember if the main greeting on a Startalk can be change remotely? How? Can it have alternate greetings? Call my brain fried this week.

z-man,
what sucks about the startalk was the fact that you can only do the greetings in house. there is no way to change it remotley.
as for having an alt greeting, you can record up to 6 diffrent greetings.
log into startalk, go to aa, greeting, greeting again, choose which greeting you want (1 in main, 2 is lunch, 3 is night, 4 is holiday 5 and 6 are anything) you can change any of them, after going through the steps of recording the prompts go back to the start point then go to aa, and change the day, lunch, etc... prompts to the greeting you picked.

Yea, I was afraid of not being able to change the greeting. What about the NAM? Can you change that greeting remotely?

programming procedures for the voicemail portion of the nam is the same as the flash.
I only have a few nams out there and have always set the greetings at the costumers site.
here's a thought,
if you have a rad installed at the costumers site, walk them through on how to set an alt greeting then go in with the remote utility to change the schedules.
what I usually do if a costumer needs small changes is have them call me one phone (cell, fax, or a phone next to a 7310 or 7324) and I walk them through the programming

The only thing that you can do remotely on the NAM VM is to change business close or open and which greeting number you want to play, and you don't have that option on the Flash or star Talk.

actually you can,
using a rad with the remote admin s.w.

I'm talking about a customer logging in to the VM to change options through a dial pad not a fastRad or soft modem inside NAm or any of that stuff.

Had this wrote down in my notes. It probably applies to a NAM.

Dialing in to change AA Greeting
Remote administration must be done through the Sys Coordinator mailbox (102). You'll have to initialize the mailbox before you can do remote stuff. Do the F981, 1020000, ok. Choose a new password etc. Keep in mind that when you change the password, it changes the password for F983 also. After you have initialized the mailbox, call into the system, when you hear the greeting dial * *. Enter the mailbox number and password then #. Press 9 9 to get into the remote administration menu. Listen to the prompts to change various settings.
To open or close the business press 1
To change a Company greeting, press 2

Good Luck!!
